As for these pictures, for my birthday I was given a digital camera by my girlfriend's mom. I've used it for snapshots, of course, but on Mother's Day the weather was gorgeous and the lighting near noon was too perfect to pass up.
I haven't done any 'art' photography since high school, and I've never had a digital camera before, so with all of these I was mostly experimenting. True to the photos I used to take in high school, when taking pictures I obsess over light, shadows, shapes and textures, so that's the focus of most of these.
Aside from the white border, these pictures are unaltered from the image the camera actually took. What little control there was came within the taking of the picture. Much larger sizes of each are available, and if anyone would actually be interested in that, or in prints, please let me know. All were taken with a Sony Cybershot W30, Carl Zeiss lens. As I posted them I noticed that that was marked on the submissions, along with aperture, shutter speed, and all those other awesome details. How did it do that?! XD
Anyway, I welcome constructive criticism on any of these. Like I said, they were mostly experiments, though I'm ecstatic with how some of them turned out, and fairly proud of them as a whole. Surprisingly enough, I still have more to post, hopefully tomorrow.
